The Variety Show of Hearts Telethon is an annual two day event that airs for 23 straight hours on Global BC. One of the biggest fundraisers in Canada, last year’s Telethon raised over 8 million dollars. The Telethon features entertainment from world renowned musicians and performers while also sharing the moving stories of children from around British Columbia who have been helped by Variety – The Children’s Charity.
Every year, over 2700 volunteers donate their time and more than 1.5 million viewers donate funds to make The Variety Show of Hearts Telethon an incredible success. The show is hosted by the Global BC news team as well as Sesame Street alum Bob McGrath and others.
The 44th Annual Variety Show of Hearts Telethon aired on Global BC, January 30th and 31st, raising an incredible $7,431,869! A huge thank you to everyone who volunteered their time to make the show happen as well as all of the generous donors who pledged their support this weekend. Another big thank you to our Premier Telethon Supporters - Global BC, Great Canadian Casinos, Canwest Community Publishing, Telus, White Spot Restaurants and Flight Centre. Together we raised millions for children who have special needs in BC.
